Jenny and Chris – DIY Aviation Wedding at The Foundry, Buffalo NY

From the second I sat down with Jenny and Chris in Spot Coffee this winter, I knew their day was going to be a spectacular one. From hand-made details, to showcasing their love for planes, to they smile at each other, it was a day to remember.

Jenny and Chris have known each other for most of their lives — they met as teenagers, and Jenny’s cousins spent the entire night trying to keep Chris away from her. They dated for a time, then went their separate ways and lived their lives. Eventually, they came back to each other, and fell in love all over again. They truly light up any room they walk into, there is no denying the way that they look at each other.

We started the day at the gorgeous Foundry Suites — there are few wedding getting ready spaces with more gorgeous light in all of Buffalo. It perfectly fit the quirky, creative feel of Jenny and Chris’ wedding. They opted out of the traditional, large, bridal party and stuck to the closet people in their lives. Jenny prepared for her wedding day surrounded by her best friend, future step-daughters, sister, and nice.

In fitting with their uniqueness as a couple, Jenny and Chris hand-made almost every detail that went into their wedding day. Jenny made her gorgeous silver and blue dress, that brought out the gorgeous silver and blue of her features. She spent days and day hand-knitting, and attaching brooches to make all of the bouquets and hair accessories. Each broach was chosen to reflect a sentiment, the amount of thought and care that went into their details is astounding.

After a relaxing morning at the Foundry Suites, we made our way over to Prior Aviation for their seriously wonderful ceremony. They were married surrounded by the very planes that Chris works on (seriously, who needs a ton of decor when you have planes for a backdrop??!), and those they love dearest.

Their reception at The Foundry was filled to the brim with love, it is so very clear how absolutely adored these two are. From toasts that were equal parts moving and hysterical, to beautifully sentimental formal dances, it was truly a night to behold.

Jenny and Chris – Congratulations! I am so thrilled this day finally came for you, you both deserve the world’s worth of happiness. Wishing you both always smile as big as you did on your wedding day (and dance just as well!). Thank you for the honor of photographing your wedding day!
