It feels disingenuous to the world around us to just post another happy wedding post today without acknowledging the collective grief and fear so many of us are facing. My inbox has been flooded with equal parts empathy and fear, with some LGBTQ+ clients asking about moving up their legal ceremony just in case. I am heartbroken we have to have these conversations again, but if that’s something you need I’m here. If you are a queer person that is looking to do a wedding prior to the inauguration to help protect your family, send me a message. We have whole vendor teams ready to hop in and help. I am proud to be a member of the queer community - both as a human and as a photographer. The first wedding I ever photographed was two women, and I have been welcomed in with open arms and honored to document those life-changing moments over the ten years since. This business was a home for LGBTQ+ folks back before Obergefell vs Hodges when we had to have inclusion policies typed out because no one featured queer weddings, and will forever be a home as long as I’m here. You are celebrated, loved, and will always have a safe inbox for anything you need. Holding space (and inbox) for anyone who needs it. I’ll be sharing community resources for how to get involved and there will be another round of activism sessions soon. In the mean time, here’s some LGBTQ+ love and joy, because we are not going anywhere.
