Julia and Matt – The Falconwood at Beaver Island Wedding Photos, Grand Island NY

You know that indescribable thing that some people just have? That feeling that when you look at them together, your immediate reaction is “That makes sense”? Julia and Matt have that in spades. They are the definition of being in love with your best friend and are equal partners in every way. Their wedding day was no exception to that dynamic.

After a quick trip to the salon, while the groomsmen were playing disc golf, we all met up for a quick high-five before Julia and Matt went off to prepare for the day. They both grinned their way through the morning and were bubbling with energy. Julia was literally bouncing (light up sneakers and all) her way down the pathway to finally see Matt.

That excitement didn’t pause for a minute from the second they saw each other; their beaming smiles were contagious. They laughed their way through the afternoon — with the help of their equally magnificent wedding party and family — and right down the aisle.

Now Julia and Matt’s ceremony was one for the books. It was full of eyes-closed laughter, sentiment, and the perfect amount of references. There a person around that wasn’t either crying, or grinning from ear to ear; it was a beautiful tribute to two extraordinary humans. They danced their way back down the aisle, the smiles never leaving their faces for even a second.

We spent all of cocktail hour exploring Beaver Island for portraits (which is something that is such a fantastic idea, by the way, they spent the hour after their ceremony soaking it all in) where even the sun knew how special they were. It beamed down in all the right places, and Julia and Matt did their magical thing.

The magic didn’t stop there. They danced their way into their reception for nothing but a fun evening. They toasted, they had beautiful formal dances, they are cake and danced their butts off. There was an appearance from their dinosaur friends and a dance floor that was packed for the rest of the night. It was the perfect celebration for two exceptional people.

Cheers you two! Congratulations again, and thank you for living in every moment of your wedding day. It was nothing but an honor to photograph you all.
