Casey and Connor – Kenan Center Wedding Photos, Lockport NY

Oh my goodness, Casey and Connor had the most special wedding from start to finish. From the second Casey told me “So we are getting married on the ice at a hockey rink, is that okay?” (obviously, it was a yes), I knew it would be a wedding from the books. One of my favorite parts about weddings is seeing how they reflect the couples themselves. Casey and Connor met on the ice in college, so there couldn’t have been a more fitting ceremony.

We started the morning at home, where Casey was surrounded by her bridal party for hair and makeup. Now when I say Casey might be the most low-key bride in existence, I am not kidding. The morning flew by in such a relaxed manner, and her family was involved in every way. Her mother Mary designed all of the decor for the reception, her sister Lizzie helped her into her gorgeous gown, after her fantastically talented cousin did her hair.

There could not have been a prettier backdrop for their first look, The Kenan Center has beautiful manicured gardens. After Connor’s heartwarming reaction to seeing Casey as a bride, we made our way around their favorite places in Lockport. From brick streets, to the Lockport Locks, the rain held out until we were done.

When we arrived at Cornerstone Arena ahead of schedule, Casey turned to me and said “Is it okay if we wear our skates for some photos?” Um, duh. Casey and Connor skated around the rink with grace (which is a serious feat in a wedding dress with a train!), and laughed their way through photographs together doing the thing they love the most — Hockey.

Their ceremony took place right on the center of the ice, and was a charming ceremony officiated by a dear friend. It could not have been a more fitting ceremony for them. In true hockey style, the first kiss was accompanied by the traditional banging on the glass, and cheers that filled the whole arena.

The celebration only continued as we made our way over to Terry’s Corners for their reception. As I mentioned earlier, Casey’s mother put together every bit of decor for their wedding. From a custom backdrop, to lovely bird cage centerpieces, and a gorgeous dessert table, the room was completely transformed. Casey and Connor tore up the dance floor with this guests (come on, how cute are those grandparents?!), and it stayed that was until the late hours of the night.

Congratulations you two! Thank you for such a spectacular day, it could not have been a better representation of you both. Cheers to the start of the a new chapter for you both!
