What is it like?
From the very start your wedding photos are all about you and how you want to feel; whatever it is, I’m in. I’m here to be your “hell yes, let’s do it”, ultimate hype girl, and your advocate when needed. The whole goal is to set up your day so you are able to soak in every last second of it with the people you love the most, and winding up with amazing photos to show for it.
It’s the picture of your mom looking at you in your wedding outfits and clearly flashing back to you playing dress up as a kid, or the way you and your partner exchange glances for that “oh my god, we are actually married” moment. By focusing on showing your personality instead of fitting you into set poses, you’ll wind up with photos that feel like you.m
My goal is to give you the space to ensure your live in the moment. This ranges from helping you structure your timeline, to navigating any complicated family dynamics. I am there as a steady presence in moments where you may get overwhelmed, and quickly solve problems when needed before they affect your wedding day.
After entirely too many years stuffed into pointe shoes with a camera in the stage wings documenting my first love, dance, I attended the photojournalism program at Rochester Institute of Technology. Four years (and maybe a few bourbons) later, I made my way into newspapers down in New York.
Two apartments, two dogs, a husband, and a 300+ mile move landed me in Buffalo, New York where I have brought that documentary background to weddings. Ten Buffalo winters later, I am forever grateful for being able to be welcomed into so many extraordinary lives and moments here.
On any given day, I am generally snuggled up with my dog, Ellie. She is a pit mix that looks like a cross between Batman and a gremlin in the best possible way. Along with my husband, she is one of the great loves of my life.
I spend entirely too much time caring for my jungle of house plants (45 in a three bedroom house, yes my husband is a saint), and devouring books at an alarming speed. My annual budget includes a line item for broadway shows, I know Taylor Swift’s entire discography by heart, and I have a deep love for terribly cliche dance movies that should have stayed in 2002.
I have spent my life thus far driven by many things — dance, theater, art, and photography. They have always led back to one thing: people and their stories.
