Kate and Patrick – Carnegie Science Center Wedding Photos, Pittsburgh PA

My husband has known Kate for over a decade (if you watch Greys, he was the George to his group of HS friends), and I can still remember his reaction to meeting Patrick for the first time. “Well, that’s it. That’s the right person for Kate.” Even five years ago, we knew we would be here someday. That someday happened to be the most beautiful spring day all year (even the sun got it together and made an appearance during portraits).

I firmly believe that you can tell how good a person is by the people they surround themselves with; Kate and Patrick are genuinely extraordinary. Walking into both suites that morning, they were abuzz with excitement. Every single person there was so thrilled for the day to finally arrive. In Kate’s suite, there were details filled with sentiment and eyes-closed laughter while Patrick was tying bowties (with a little help from mom and youtube) to game-day cheers. They each took a moment to themselves to exchange letters and heartfelt gifts (prepare for tears), before putting the finishing touches on their wedding preparations.

After taking a moment with Kate’s spectacularly sweet family, we made our way over to the remarkable Heinz Chapel. Their ceremony was the perfect amount of tradition mixed with touches of family (also, more tears of joy), and their joy was undeniable. They beamed throughout the entire service, and practically danced back down the aisle. Now if you know Kate, you’ll also know that she usually doesn’t love to be the center of attention, but even an entire field of college students cheering on their exit from the cathedral didn’t dim their joy a single ounce.

Being present and enjoying their wedding day was a huge priority for them both, so instead of spending the whole afternoon driving all around Pittsburgh for their portraits, we took a walk down the Three Rivers Heritage Trail. We laughed our butts off, and they took a few moments to themselves before the whirlwind that was their reception.

Walking into their reception room at the Carnegie Science Center was like walking into the pages of a magazine. The tables were overflowing with flowers, while candles lined the walls. Everything set a spectacular atmosphere for what is sure to be one of the biggest parties of the year. Kate and Patrick celebrated with their favorite humans amid heartfelt toasts, spectacular food, and one of the most packed dance floors until the very last song that I have ever seen.

To Kate and Patrick – cheers you two!! It could not have been more of an honor to work with you both, thank you for being nothing but a joy. See you soon at the 58893467756 weddings we are guests at this year!
